Hello to all of you who are viewing this blog. It is born out of the need to scribble by a well-known failed journalist - Jonathan Mitchell. That insatiable need to comment on current affairs does not go away, even when you have had a rubbish career in British journalism like me. I did for a brief time enjoy some success and have contributed articles to many of the world's leading English-language publications like The Economist, The Gruniad (sorry The Guardian), The Miami Herald, Lloyd's List, The Journal of Commerce, The Christian Science Monitor, The Tico Times, The Panama News, Farmer's Weekly, Action Asia, Asian GEO Passport and Asian Geographical...To name but a few.
In this time of economic mayhem and well, downright silliness often in the weird, clicky world of British journalism, I decided to pen some opinions and observations here for the benefit of all and who knows? Maybe there will be a commission or two out of it!
So check back regularly, just because I got major career damage sent my way from the Downing Street Years of a certain Mr Campbell, does not mean that I lost my analytical skills or razor-sharp political and economic analysis!
